Dream Home Inspection is now offering Blower Door Testing along with Thermal Infrared scaning.
After sitting up the blower in one of the entrance doors we can see withing minutes if the house is to loose or if it is to tight just by reading how much CFM is being moved thru the blower.
Having a home that is to loose cost a lot more to heat in the winter and cool in the summer.
Having a house that is to tight can be dangerous if you have gas burning appliances and it can be unhealthy because it is not exchanging fresh air that you need and so do the gas burning appliances.
After the fan is up and running we can also use a Infrared camera and visually see where we are loosing heated and cooled air. Sometimes we can even feel with the back of our hands air moving around window trim and under walls.
After we have finished taking photos with our still and Infrared cameras, we insert them into a report for you to have and to use while you are air sealing your home. We can even come back and do another test to see how much the CFM level has dropped after you have air sealed.
Using the Blower Door and infrared camera we can see that we have some insulation missing in this ceiling which is a big heat loss into the attic.
